PROLOTHERAPY
CAN PREVENT THE DEVELOPMENT OF
TRAUMATIC ARTHRITIS
DONNA
ALDERMAN, D.O.
Ligaments stabilize joints, if
ligaments are loose, the joint is loose. Loose joints means the body will
cause muscles to spasm and overgrow bone in an effort to stabilize the joint.
Since stabilization will not occur; the joint will begin to make the
"cracking" sound. Cracking of a joint means
arthritis is starting.
Additionally, if the joint periodically swells or feels painful during cold
weather,
arthritis is starting to form. If a joint or ligament is
traumatized by injury and not fully allowed to heal, traumatic arthritis
develops. Many of the old-time athletes I see in my practice have some form of
traumatic arthritis. However! Exercise and sports participation do not cause
arthritis; only an injury to the joint causes arthritis.
Calcium Deposits and Bone
Spurs
Anytime you hear the terms
calcium deposit or spur, think arthritis. The body will overgrow bone to
stabilize an injured joint. This bone overgrowth is called arthritis. After
thinking arthritis, when the surgeon offers to remove the spur or deposit, say
"No thanks, I’ll get some Prolotherapy."
If the injured
ligaments are
treated early with Prolotherapy, the joints strengthen and there is no longer
a need for the body to grow bone spurs and calcium deposits in an attempt to
stabilize loose joints and ligaments, thereby preventing the development of
this type of arthritis. Prolotherapy is the only treatment I know of which can
strengthen the joint and eliminate the pain of traumatic arthritis totally and
completely.
One of my patients is an avid
bodybuilder, who suffered from chronically loose joints and pain. He went the
route of surgery, cortisone shots, tons of
anti-inflammatories,
and was left with traumatic
shoulder arthritis. After several
prolotherapy treatments he
told me, "My
shoulder continues to become stronger and much more stable.
I have no more pain, I no longer need anti-inflammatory drugs. I am able to go
to the gym regularly and do exercises I could not do before, because I was
frightened that my shoulder would go out and the extreme pain would come back.
The Prolotherapy has ended my 15 year battle with my shoulder problems.
Thanks, Doctor." |
